Organic Cooking Classes!
Come explore our farm fields, harvest fresh produce;
together we’ll cook a meal like you have never experienced!
Glorious Greens & Grains: date TBD
You’ve heard about the perils of “processed food”, but still don’t quite know what to do with Kohlrabi, Swiss Chard, or wheat berries. We’ll harvest some of our own in the fields, then cook up half a dozen different greens and grain dishes that you can replicate at home. We’ll also discuss what vegetables are available in each season, why, and how to eat locally year round.
We be Jammin’! Preserve your produce in a jar
Learn simple ways to enjoy the fruits of your labor all year long. We will lead you step by step through the process of preserving your own garden bounty. After this class you will know how to prepare fruit and vegetables for canning or pickling, how to prepare a brine, and how to do water-bath canning. We’ll learn about food safety issues involved in the process. The materials fee includes use of our kitchen, fruit and veggies to preserve, and jars. The best part – everyone takes home a jar of preserves or pickles to eat!
Classes are $25 per person or $65 for a series of 3. FREE FOR CSA MEMBERS.
Thursday mornings 11am-12:30pm & 2-3:30 pm in July & August
Each class begins with a harvest tour of the farm, where we will all gather the things we need and learn about how they were produced. Then we’ll bring them back to the Farm Market and turn them into delectable delicacies – while you learn simple ways to incorporate fresh, farm-to-table eating at home. Led by Garden of Eve owner Eve Kaplan-Walbrecht or knowledgeable staff, these classes are fun for families, friends, and make great gifts too! NOTE: all recipes are vegetarian, and we can accommodate vegan or other diets in most classes. Just ask!
FEES:Tots’ classes are $20 per child, or $60 for a series of 4. $10 for each additional child, $30 for series for additional child. Tag-alongs under 2 are free. FREE FOR CSA MEMBERS.
or register in person at the Market, or call 722-8777 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with contact information of all attendees. Classes will be held rain or shine. Payment is by check, cash or credit card (MC, Amex or Visa).

Going with the Gut: Making Raw and Fermented Foods: Date TBD
We’ll investigate how to make a yummy meal without cooking, including sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha. Learn about how fermenting can enhance your health, and how easy it is to incorporate into your diet and your routine. Class fee includes a kombucha mother to take home (if desired) and a jar of sauerkraut to ferment at home.
