Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Farm Veggie Box members are welcome to visit the farm!
This is a great perk of membership, getting to be a “farmer for the day” and experience behind the scenes on a real organic farm!
We generally plan one summer and one fall tour date, TBD for 2024
Together, we can do many fun activities to help you experience what farm life and organic agriculture are like.
Group tours
GROUPS OF ALL AGES, from 6 yo+ , Scouts, students & graduate programs, visiting professionals groups etc: $10 fee per person for a 1.5 hour program. $250 minimum includes up to 25 people. (Additional people over 25 are $10 each
Reservations: At least 2 weeks in advance. Please email your contact information, institution name, requested trip date, number and age of adults/kids to farmer@gardenofevefarm.com
Details: Programs are conducted rain or shine. Groups must dress appropriately and plan to encounter uneven terrain, farm equipment, and be open to experiencing unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells. One chaperone for every ten children is requested for groups aged under 10 years old. Cancellation is possible without penalty up to 48 hours in advance.
WHAT CAN MY GROUP DO ON THE FARM?
We can custom tailor programs to meet the needs of your group, depending on your interests, age of visitors, duration of the visit, etc. Among the many activities we regularly have available for visitors to the farm are:
- Harvesting crops: some of the favorites include tomatoes, flowers, and pumpkins
- Learning about the diversity of vegetables and food, “heirloom” plants, and why diversity is important.
- The meaning and significance of “Organic” growing, and what methods are used, in contrast with conventional agriculture
- Growing from seeds: how a greenhouse works, planting seeds and caring for plants
Often, tours are preceded or followed by your group enjoying the lunch you have brought, in our picnic area.
